Tiny Chihuahua Dog Saves Baby From Rattlesnake
Zoey may be a tiny Chihuahua, but when a rattlesnake lunged at her owners' 1-year-old grandson, it was a real bulldog.
The grandson, Booker West, was playing with a birdbath in his grandparents' back yard when a snake slithered up to the toddler. It rattled and struck.
But five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.
"She got in between Booker and the snake, and that's when I heard her yipe," Monty Long, the boy's grandfather tells a paper.
The dog required treatment and the bites were so bad it that for a time it appeared she might not survive the bites. But Zoey is now doing a lot better.
"These little bitty dogs, they just don't really get credit," Booker's grandma Denise Long tells the Colorado paper.
