Jumbo The Elephant Gets The Circus Girl And Elopes

A lonely wild male elephant has raided a female elephant's stable at a circus in eastern India and wooed one of its residents to elope with him.

The 26-year-old elephant smashed through the tin walls of the circus in the state of West Bengal and took off with Savitri, one of the four females in the stable.

The 'Times of India' newspaper reported that the residents later saw the couple roaming around "much in love."

However, it wasn't just the circus owner who was left upset after the loss of the elephant estimated to be worth over $10,000. One of Savitri's friends is also upset and awaiting her return.
