Man Tries To Break Record For World's Longest Phone Call
A UK man has started an attempt to break the record for the longest telephone conversation which stands at 39 hours.
Tony Wright, who has already claimed the record for the longest period without sleeping after he stayed awake for 11 days and nights, has begun his attempt to have a phone conversation for more than 39 hours.
Wright started chatting from his home to a Tesco store in London. Customers will take turns in 20-minute slots to talk to the 42-year-old and try to keep him going throughout the mammoth task.
Wright says: "I have a great feeling about this record. The current record sits at 39 hours, I think I can absolutely smash that. I've been exercising my vocal cords for the past few weeks so theyre primed and ready for making record-breaking history."
We'll keep an eye on this and update you when it's done.
UPDATE:
Tony Wright has now been talking on his phone for 40 hours. So he's already broken the record and and is still going strong. The previous record was 39 hours, 18 minutes and 24 seconds.
