Man Ran Home-Based Casino With Stripper Wife As Dealer
A Delaware man turned a poker game with neighbours into his business, with thousands of dollars on the table, high-priced buy-ins, credit card machines and nudity.
Police say 37-year-old William Shane Anderson, his wife Laurie, and a 20-year-old friend have been charged with numerous counts including providing a premise for gambling, possession of gambling devices, and conspiracy.
They say wife Laurie not only helped run the business, but she was quite hands on: "On occasion, she was also a dealer and she would deal topless, as well as basically serve liquor," says Middletown Police Chief Hank Tobin.
But that's not all, the gambling was also going on as the children were in the house.
Police believe after Anderson lost his job, they said he decided to turn the "Texas Hold 'Em" night into a career. He held tournaments with high entry fees, hired men as bouncers and even accepted credit cards at 14-hour marathon games.
