TV Technician Suspended Over On-Air Porn Blunder

A television technician in French Polynesia has been suspended after he accidentally broadcast part of a porn movie shortly after a regularly scheduled religious program.

The mix-up occurred earlier on the Tahiti Nui television network, when three minutes of the adult movie, which included nearly a minute of explicit sexual content, went to air during the mid-afternoon.

"It is funny, yes, but not really to us," station general director Haupert Ives told the Australian Associated Press.

The technician was taping a satellite feed from Paris when he switched channels to look at an adult program, not noticing he had started to air the program he switched to.

He has been suspended without pay until further notice from the station.
