Serbian Civil Servants Told No More Miniskirts, See Through Tops
According to a new code of conduct that has come into force this month, Serbia's civil servants will no longer be allowed to wear 'disproportionately short skirts', 'see-through blouses' and have to leave their grumpiness at home. ![]()
The code says civil servants "must act professionally and kindly," "provide true and timely information" and "respect citizens' personality and dignity."
As for what they can't do, the code says employees will not be allowed to wear "disproportionately short skirts, tops with revealing decolletage or narrow straps, short or see-through blouses and short pants."
Serbia has some 250,000 civil servants, a huge number compared to other countries.
They are coveted posts in the country because of the short hours, job security and power but also because of the lack of rules that applied to the job -- something the country is now trying to change.
