Britney Gets Married To Dancer Boyfriend
Songbird Britney Spears walked down the aisle with former backup dancer Kevin Federline at a surprise, five-minute ceremony before 25 guests at a private home in Los Angeles her second marriage in just nine months. Oops, she did it again.
But in a wacky nod to her flash-and-trash reputation, Britney, 22, later presented her maids of honor with gifts of hot-pink velour track suits emblazoned with the words "Hot Mama."
Not to be outdone, Kevin, 26, presented his male pals with gifts of white velour track suits inscribed with "Pimps." One jacket went so far as to boast "Pimp Daddy."
The couple gave their families barely two hours' notice to show up at the Studio City home of the tailor who custom-made the tuxedos for the event.
Spears' mom, Lynne, and the pop princess's kid sister, Jamie Lynn, apparently thought they were attending an "engagement dinner" when the plan for a ceremony was suddenly divulged.
Britney was blond no more, having opted for a more conservative brunette, only to discover that sister Jamie Lynn had done the same.
Let's hope Britney's latest union lasts a bit longer than her last one.
On Jan. 2, she wed high-school sweetheart Jason Alexander in a quickie Las Vegas ceremony.
But she instantly regretted it, and the marriage was annulled only 55 hours later in a mess Britney's record company chalked up to being a joke that went too far.
During that bizarre ceremony, the bride wore a baseball cap and torn jeans down the aisle.
Alexander later sold his story to a British tabloid, breathlessly telling of Britney's sexual prowess on their wedding night.
Just five months later, Spears and Federline announced their engagement.
Britney's latest marriage makes her more than a new wife she's also the stepmother of two kids.
Federline has two young daughters with former girlfriend and ex-"Moesha" actress Shar Jackson: a 2-year-old and a newborn, who was still in the womb when Federline dumped Jackson for Spears.
UPDATE: Newlywed Britney Spears got her brand-new hubby to ink an ironclad prenuptial agreement just days before they got hitched. The deal would protect the pop princess' $100 million fortune in case of another marital disaster.
Britney's decision to keep Kevin Federline on a short leash when it comes to access to her vast fortune is a huge relief for her parents, who'd had heated arguments with her over the need for financial protection. Sources inside Britney's camp said the pop tart had been unwilling to get a prenup at first claiming she and Federline were "truly in love" and didn't need one. In California, divorcing couples can be bound to a 50-50 split. So if Britney, 22, and Kevin, 26, were to part, it would have put half of her fortune in jeopardy.
