Russian Town Plans Breast Monument To Bring Happiness
A Russian town has unveiled a monument that shows a man's hand gripping the breast of a young woman, which officials say will bring "family happiness" to men who touch it.
The monument was opened to the public on Saturday in Bataisk, a town of about 100,000 in southern Russia.
"A bas-relief of a female silhouette has been made on a metal plate, with a man's hand on the breast," says a spokesman for the administration tells Interfax.
"It is believed that if a man touches this bust, he will gain family happiness."
A lovers' bench has also been setup near the sculpture, which was created by local artist Anatoly Sknarin -- who says the inspiration came from a similar sculpture he saw in the red-light district of Amsterdam.
