Man Accused Of Stealing Eight Piggy Banks From Home
A 34-year-old man in Saint Paul, Minnesota has been charged with second-degree burglary after stealing eight piggy banks from a home.
The piggy banks netted the robber more than $2,700 in change.
Police said after stealing the savings, the robber went to a bank, where he spent more than half an hour standing at a coin-counting machine while it counted the money.
The man, who had already been on probation for first-degree burglary, then picked up his girlfriend and bought a coat, boots and shirts with his new found savings.
Police found him after a neighbor saw a man leave the house and noted the plate number.
The robber knew about the family's piggy bank savings because he had lived with the victims in the past.
