Robber Takes Off Clothes To Avoid Being Spotted By Police
Here's a tip: If you've just robbed a bank, taking off all your clothes isn't what you want to do if you're trying to blend in.
That's exactly what a man suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo Bank in Great Falls, Montana did.
It all started when 33-year-old Johny James Laverdure was trying to walk out of the Oakland International Airport, but he set off an alarm when he opened a restricted door instead.
After triggering the alarm, Lavendure entered an off-limits area of the airport and, in an apparent effort to cover up his identity, took off all his clothes and everything he had on him and hid them in a closet.
County Sheriff's deputies spotted the naked Lavendure running away and then found him hiding from authorities. He didn't have any other clothes that he had planned to change into.
Laverdure has been booked in an Oakland jail on the charges out of Washington. He had a 'large amount' of cash on him.
"If they were smart, our job would be a lot harder," Sgt. Bruce McVey tells the 'Great Falls Tribune'.
