Teen Girl Confuses Mother's Sex Screams For Assault

Police in Torrington, Connecticut say a girl overheard her mother's screams during sex and thought she was being assaulted.

So the 16-year-old rounded up some friends to attack the man who was in the bedroom.

The girl, two boys and a 19-year-old man have now been arrested and and are to be arraigned on Wednesday on assault and conspiracy charges.

The girl, who can't be named since she is a juvenile, tells police she thought her mother, Melanie Arnold, was being attacked and was concerned for her safety.

So he got together her friends, broke into the bedroom, and the group beat the mother's 25-year-old companion with a baseball bat and punches.

The man, Roger Swanson, says he suffered a black eye and several bruises.

The mother denies she screamed and says her daughter probably heard a slap and thought it was an assault.
