Swimming Pool Voyeur Claims He Had Toothache
A man in the United Kingdom caught trying to peek at a young girl under her swimming pool changing cubicle wall has been jailed.
Sultan Al-Sayed excuse? He claims he had toothache and was simply putting his cheek to the floor to ease the pain.
Or as his lawyer, Nneka Akudolu, says: "At the time he was having trouble with his tooth and was putting his cheek to the floor to cool it."
But the judge at Chelmsford Crown Court didn't buy any of it and told the 40-year-old Saudi national he will be jailed for nine weeks.
He also recommended Al-Sayed be deported after he serves his sentence.
Al-Sayed was caught after one of the cubicles where Al-Sayed was seen had a ten-year-old girl. He denied voyeurism but was found guilty by the jury.
"You went to Colchester Leisure World with a mirror deliberately to spy on people in the changing cubicles," said Judge Rodger Hayward-Smith.
"You were looking into a number of cubicles and a ten-year-old girl saw what you were doing. This was aggravated by pre-planning and you have not shown a flicker of remorse."
The judge said while there was no evidence Al-Sayed had specifically been targeting children, it was clear what he was doing.
