Dentist Fondles Women's Breasts As 'Procedure'
A California dentist accused of fondling the breasts of 27 female patients is trying to keep his dental license by claiming that 'chest massages' are an appropriate procedure.
Mark Anderson's lawyer says "dental journals discuss the need to massage the pectoral muscles to treat a common jaw problem."
His Attorney Robert Zaro told the judge that he should let Anderson keep his dental license while the case is investigated.
Zaro said Anderson would be supervised by two assistants and no longer do the chest rubs as 'treatment'.
He said Anderson needs to keep seeing patients so he can feed his seven children. Yes, seven.
Anderson's dental license was suspended last month after he was charged with sexual battery. Prosecutors are investigating complaints from more than two dozen women who say they also were groped in Anderson's examining chair in the last five years.
One 31-year-old woman told police that he fondled her at least six times over two years. She tried wearing tight shirts with high necklines, but "Anderson would still get in under her shirt and bra."
