Mystery Santa Spreads Holiday Cheer
A "Parking Ticket Santa Claus" has been spreading cash as well as Christmas cheer around the central English city of Birmingham.
Some motorists receiving parking tickets in the area recently have found Christmas cards on their windscreens containing 30 pounds in cash to pay their parking fine.
Each card contains a note reading from the mystery individual reading "Don't let this ticket spoil your Christmas. Here's 30 pounds to pay it off. Merry Christmas - Parking Ticket Santa".
Caroline Howard, who was one of those to receive the note said: "At first I thought it was a joke and kept looking around for the person who had left it there. But perhaps Santa really does exist after all".
At least fourteen drivers are said to have received the note from the mystery Santa, who has given his profession an image boost after a string of stories about "Bad Santas" including men in Santa been accused of committing armed robbery in Germany, exposing themselves in southern England and going on a drunken rampage in New Zealand.
