Fruity Nudes Causing Controversy In Chile
Artist Carla Bobadilla's latest exhibition that is made up of a series of giant posters of nudes is causing quite a stir in Chile.
Religious groups are calling for the art exhibition showing naked women posing among fruit and vegetables to be banned. They say some of the Chilean artist's pictures are too explicit and religious groups have asked for the exhibition to be closed.
But the artist, Ms. Bobadilla cannot understand the uproar. She says her vision with her work was to show the the present Chile to the rest of the world. "My goal was to portray the vision that foreigners have of Chile - that of a country that is economically stable because of its fruit exports", she said.
For our readers in Chile, the exhibition is on display at the Bellas Artes Museum in Santiago.
