Teenager Saves Life Of His Saviour
An American teenager who saved the life of a 'stranger' was shocked to find it was a nurse who did the same for him years earlier.
Kevin Stephan, 17 years old of Buffalo, rushed to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre when he saw a lady choking on her lunch. He did not recognise the woman Ms Penny Brown as the off duty nurse who got his heart beating again after a bat hit him in the chest during a baseball game.
But his mother, who was in the restaurant where it happened, knew exactly who it was and recognized the choking victim as the woman who saved her sons life back in 1999 following a freak accident.
Kevin Stephan and Penny Brown are still surprised by the unlikely coincidence. "Wow. I couldn't believe it! Everyone I have told is like: 'No way'. They're in total disbelief", Kevin said.
"It's one of those things you can't explain. It was meant to happen. I'm Catholic, and I believe the Lord kind of set things up. They say things happen for a reason, and nothing is a coincidence".
Ms Brown was equally as surprised: "It's almost impossible to believe, but I'm very appreciative of what occurred", she said.
And here's something rather interesting to think about: If she had not saved his life years earlier, he couldn't have saved hers.
