Cops In Trouble For Exposing Too Much
Three German policemen are facing disciplinary action after deciding to wear kilts to a policeman's ball and exposing a little more than others cared to see.
The men, part of the 202nd Military Police Group in Germany known as the CID, chose full Scottish regalia for a fancy dress carnival party held in a local brewery.
But, as the beer flowed, so did the kilts. The kilts of the three men, a 41-year-old detective, his deputy who is 31, and the police captain who is 34, got higher and higher.
Others present at the party said it was clear they followed the Scottish practice of wearing nothing at all under their kilts.
One female police officer said: "One of them stood on a table and inched his kilt up bit by bit until he was flashing everything". The boss, Bernhard Kufka, said their "disgraceful behaviour" had caused damages to the force in the eyes of locals and reduced their reputation.
The disciplinary proceedings could mean suspension, loss of pay and even demotion for the three men. But still not willing to admit they had done anything wrong, one officer said: "It was only a bit of fun. We took the dressing up very seriously and I believe real Scotsmen don't wear anything under their skirts".
