Man Robs Bank Then Stops For Pancakes

A man in Bensalem, Pennsylvania held up a bank this morning then followed it up by making a detour to a local restaurant for pancakes.

The pit-stop proved costly for Mario Caracoza who held up a Bank of America branch before just before noon.

"He came in and he was ordering pancakes off the kids' menu. And the next thing you know we're surrounded by cops and he ran into the bathroom", said a waitress at the restaurant. "He just pointed here and it was like, 'I want five pancakes'. I said, 'But that's a kids' menu,' and he was, like, 'I want five of them.'"

As he dined he asked the diner owner, Tayfen Yilmaz, for a favor. "He sits down, orders some food and he asked me to call a cab", Yilmaz said.

After he was caught and handcuffed, Caracoza was quickly identified by the victims of the robbery. His movements were so poorly disguised that one person saw Caracoza leave the bank and go directly to the Sunrise Diner.

A customer who was eating at the time saw the whole scene unfold. "I saw them bring him out in handcuffs. They found the money in the bathroom", he said.
