Thief Tries To Steal Wire, Gets Electrocuted
A 33-year-old man, Samuel Ortiz-Valle, was electrocuted in Pennsylvania while trying to steal what he thought was copper wire from atop a 50-foot utility pole.
Local authorities say employees found the victim about 15 feet from the base of the pole.
A pair of wire cutters were found next to the body, leading investigators to believe that the man intended to cut down the wires to resell as scrap metal.
Ortiz-Valle apparently climbed the pole, and while grabbing a metal platform, touched one of three high-voltage wires with his head.
