Engineer Starts New Career With Naked Women
A former heating engineer has embarked on an enviable new career - sculpting life-size naked women as garden ornaments.
After 27 years of fixing radiators and boilers, Simon Willmott, thought it was time for a change and turned his hand to making bronze and stone sculptures.
Willmott bases his designs on three different women. He says he realised last year he need a change of direction and formed his company. The sculptures sell for as much as $3,500.
Willmott describes the sculptures as ideal focal points for gardens. "It's quite a career change but I knew the writing was on the wall for the engineering business, with the rise in the cost of oil and I knew that eventually I would do something else. I has always been interested in sculpting for years, and had been doing it since I can remember."
He says the sculptures are attracting interest from around the world.
