Swedish TV Channel Screens Porn In Blunder

A TV news channel in Sweden is facing embarrassment and ridicule after mistakenly showing a pornographic movie in the background of a news broadcast.

Viewers tuned in for a 5-minute news update at midnight but what they saw were explicit scenes from a movie playing on a TV screen behind Sweden's SVT news anchor Peter Dahlgren.

The monitor - one of many on the wall of a control room visible behind the studio - normally shows other news channels during broadcasts. But staffers who watched a sports event on a cable channel earlier in the evening, forgot to switch it back.

A producer spotted the error and ran into the control room and turned off the monitor during the broadcast.

"This is highly embarrassing and unfortunate", news director Per Yng said. "It must not happen again". He added there had been no complaints from viewers about the mishap

Swedish newspapers have poked fun at the blunder, jokingly changing the name of the show from Rapport to "Rapporn".
