Australians Told To Stop Singing In The Shower
Australia's largest power suppliers is telling citizens to stop singing and daydreaming in the shower because they are wasting money on hot water.
Energy Australia says it has conducted research showing that the average Australian showers for seven minutes and the time is taken up by activities such as shaving, playing with toys, singing, daydreaming and brushing teeth.
"That's an activity that perhaps people can look at whether they need to do that in the shower or whether they can just do it over the sink", spokesman for Energy Australia, Anthony O'Brien, says.
O'Brien says half a million shower timers have been sent to families in the country's biggest city, Sydney, and surrounding areas to remind them to keep their showers short.
This comes as Australia is also in the grip of the worst drought in living memory with some of the larger cities being labelled in the media as wasting more than their fair share of water.
