Television Remote Leads To Thief's Arrest

A thief in southwestern France got away with stealing a TV. Only one problem, he forgot to pick up the remote control.

So he returned to for the remote -- but this time, he was arrested.

Police said the man had robbed a retiree's house. He took the TV set and some hunting rifles. While the owner was reporting the theft at the local police station, the thief returned for the remote.

Alert neighbors tipped off the police and the man was caught red-handed.

"He came back to take the remote control", a local police spokesman said. "I guess there's daring and there's stupid".
