Strippers In Alabama Find Way Around Topless Law
Topless dancers in Alabama aren't really topless, and can't be according to state law. So dancers are spraying themselves with skin-colored latex to get around the law.
You see under Alabama's strict law regulating exotic dancers, any skin that would normally be covered by a bikini must have an opaque covering. But the law doesn't specify what kind of material must be used, so, in the legal sense, a nylon swimsuit and spray-on latex are virtually the same.
The state, which is already defending against a lawsuit filed by strip clubs challenging the law, says it reluctantly will go along with the clubs rather than have a federal judge throw out the entire statue.
"You can get it that matches your skin color", says one man. "The only thing I hear from the girls is that it can be kind of irritating".
