UK Town Sends Residents Error Filled Calendar
A UK town will have two extra days this year, thanks to errors in its official calendar.
Crawley Council spent more than $10,000 sending its 2007 calendar to over 9,500 homes - completely unaware that its calendar has May 28 printed twice and November with 31 days.
It wasn't until a resident called the council to point out the blunder that bosses realised.
Rosie Manton, who received one of the calendars, says: "I didn't realise the mistake at first, but when I went to put a note that it was my son's birthday on May 28, I realised the council has put the date in twice. I can't believe they didn't check it before sending them out".
A council spokesperson promised to do better next time: "Obviously our proof-reading was not good enough. Next year we will get it right".
