Too Much Texting? Get A 'BlackBerry Thumb' Massage
Cellphone addicts who spend hours on end sending text messages, emails and talking can now seek a "BlackBerry Thumb" massage for their sore hands.
A New York City spa known as Graceful Services recently began offering the massage to its cellphone-weary customers. A one-hour session costs $60.
Grace Gao Macnow, the spa owner, says: "We concentrate on the muscles related to the fingers, like back muscles, neck muscles and arms".
The Hyatt hotel chain is now also offering a similar massage to its customers at locations throughout the United States, where a 30-minute session costs $80.
They've also added a quick 10-minute sessions during breaks for business people attending conferences at a Hyatt hotel.
The American Physical Therapy Association last year recognised 'BlackBerry Thumb' as an official workplace disorder related to the over-use of any hand-held electronic device, such as BlackBerrys.
