Skinny Prisoner Escapes Through Food Slot

The small windows on Gary City Jail cell doors are just the right size for a tray of food to slide in or out.

But somehow a skinny inmate managed to squeeze out of the tiny slot.

A correctional officer found the twenty-eight year old man, Artez Kenyetta Knox, walking in a jail hallway after police said the 130-pound man took off his clothes, shoved them through the food slot and then wiggled through himself.

He had dressed and was trying to find an unlocked door when the officer found him.

Knox was charged with attempted escape and faces up to 28 years in prison if convicted.

He was in prison on a robbery charge.
