Naked Belgian Beer Taken Off Shelves In The UK
A Belgian lager with a risque marketing strategy has been stripped from sale in the UK.
You see, bottles of Rubbel Sexy Lager featured a picture of a woman with a removable swimsuit on the label - which drinkers could scratch off to leave her totally naked.
Alcohol industry regulator 'Portman Group' has ruled the name of the drink and the scantily-clad model could lead drinkers to associate the product with 'sexual success'.
The lager is produced in Belgium and has now been withdrawn from sale in the UK.
David Poley, a spokesman for the Portman Group, points out their code states: "A drink, its packaging and any promotional material or activity should not in any direct or indirect way suggest any association with sexual success."
"Some people might think this is harmless fun but there is a serious issue involved. The industry has set itself strict marketing rules and this drink has fallen short."
