Fancy Japenese Toilets Catching On Fire
A Japanese toilet maker is offering free repairs for over 180,000 toilets after wiring problems has caused several of them to catch fire in recent weeks.
Toto Ltd.'s Z series have caught fire in three separate incidents and sent up smoke in 26 other incidents.
"We apologise deeply for the trouble we have caused to our customers", the company said in a statement.
"Fortunately, nobody was using the toilets when the fire broke out," says a spokesperson for the company. "The fire would have been just under your buttocks".
The problem was caused as friction was generated in a part inside the toilets, eventually producing enough heat.
The toilet costs $1,680 to $2,600, based on the options you get, and features a massage spray, a power dryer and a deodorizing filter.
