HSBC Bank Closes "Almighty God's" Account
An author who changed his name to 'God' for a book has been dumped by HSBC bank.
Thirty-five year-old Sheridan Simove says his HSBC bank account was closed after changing his name by deed poll.
The UK resident says: "At first they told me I needed two names to have an account".
"So I replied that Id become 'Almighty God'".
But HSBC bank wouldn't have any of it and said he must use his original name to keep the account.
