Woman Calls 911 For 'Nanny 911' Emergency

Here's some friendly advice: Need a little help with your kids? Don�t call 911.

But that's just what police say a Wisconsin woman did � apparently under the influence of the TV show. She called 911 because she needed a baby sitter.

"I need a nanny", the woman says in the call. "Yeah, this is a nanny 911".

The woman goes on to request a baby sitter, help with her kids and someone to keep her company.

The dispatcher, who couldn't believe it, informs the woman that isn't what 911 is for.

After a brief exchange, the woman says "OK" and hangs up.

"That's just an example of some of the influences television has on some of the things we deal with", said Sheriff Todd Nehls. "And this woman was serious", Nehls said. "If you listen to the call, she�s looking for a nanny".

Police could cite the woman for misuse of 911 or harassing phone calls, he said. "But with this one, we didn�t push it", Nehls said. "If she had called back, we may have taken it further".

'Nanny 911' is a reality television show in which families with unmanageable children are reformed by British nannies.
