Ukrainian Invents Condom That Plays Music
A Ukrainian scientist has invented a condom that plays music during sex.
Scientist Hryhory Chausovsky says he developed the birth control device as a novelty, and it serves an aid for more pleasurable love-making.
A miniature loudspeaker and motion sensor implanted in the condom's upper cuff provides a range of musical tones during sex.
And music volume depends on intensity of love-making. Tone varies based on the sexual position adopted by lovers, he says.
"It (the condom's sound) is directly related to the emotional level of the users", Chausovsky adds. He says the music volume generated by the condom would serve not only to assist lovers in obtaining higher quality sex, but also inform them when an erection is present.
Chausovsky says testing has shown no danger of electric shock but the condom's main limitation is low sound quality, similar to tones produced by first-generation mobile phones, which is what he wants to improve next.
Condoms and other birth control devices are generally unpopular in Ukraine, a country suffering one of the highest HIV-infection rates in the world.
Chausovsky hopes his invention will lead to more people using condoms.
